Pie > cake, always. One of the reasons it 'takes the cake' is because when you visit Four & Twenty Blackbirds pie counter in Brooklyn, NY, you'll never have any other slice like it. Four & Twenty has been around for nearly eleven years, and we thought their current logo and brand identity could use a refresh. Staying true to the original circular medallion logo, we concepted a clean identity that incorporates subtle pie iconography and resonates with their bold attitude and flavors.

Logo Redesign

First, we took note of their previous circular medallion logo which reminded us somewhat of a full pie shape and their radial wordmark. We created a modern take on their previous logo which mimics the iconic pie silhouette. Further, we integrated a new symbol of the 'pie bird vent' as the central logo mark, which allows for various iterations across branding channels such as website, business cards, social media, signage, packaging and more.

The Pie Shop Collateral

In addition to approaching the logo in a new direction, we wanted to reexamine the customer experience from the moment they step into the pie shop. First, we reflected on the current blank white pie box and modernized the design to fit the spirit of the brand, as well as created a window to the delicious pie beneath. We designed some equally chic signage for behind the counter to maintain the brand's consistency.
